Agree a Written Quality Specification Before Bulk Production
Before bulk activewear production begins, the brand and manufacturer should agree on a written quality specification that defines what will be accepted, inspected, and corrected.
The approved Tech Pack and pre-production sample should normally serve as the main production references.
What the Specification Should Define
Product Standards
Garment measurements and tolerances, fabric appearance, approved color, stitching, workmanship, logo application, labels, trims, and accessories.
Inspection Standards
Critical, major, and minor defect definitions, inspection requirements, and the selected sampling plan where applicable.
Delivery Standards
Folding, packaging, barcode, carton requirements, inspection stages, and corrective actions for nonconforming products.
Activewear-Specific Requirements
For activewear, the quality specification may also include product-specific performance requirements where relevant.
Handle Nonconforming Results Against the Agreed Standard
Any nonconforming result should be reviewed against the agreed specification before shipment. Rework, replacement, sorting, or other corrective action should be confirmed according to the order terms.
