How Should I Plan Backwards From an Activewear Launch Date?

Plan from the day inventory must be available—not from the day bulk production starts.
Start with the planned launch date, then work backwards from the date finished products must arrive at your warehouse or fulfillment center. Reserve time after arrival for receiving, inventory checks, photography, website preparation, and campaign setup.
1. Launch-readiness window
- Warehouse receiving and inventory checks
- Product photography and website preparation
- Launch marketing and campaign setup
2. Development and approval window
- Product concept and Tech Pack preparation
- Fabric and trim sourcing
- Sample development, revisions, fit, and size approval
- Color, artwork, logo, and pre-production sample approval
3. Bulk and delivery window
- Bulk material preparation
- Cutting, sewing, inline quality control, final inspection, and packing
- Freight, customs clearance, and delivery to the agreed destination
Build buffer into change-prone stages
Allow additional time for fabric development, sample revisions, custom artwork, testing, and international shipping. These stages can affect the final launch date even when the bulk factory schedule itself remains on track.
Working production timing
Typically around 7–15 days per development round.
Generally around 25–30 days after required approvals and production conditions are confirmed.
Shipping time should be planned separately according to the destination and transport method.
For launch-critical orders, set decision deadlines for fabric, colors, size range, branding, packaging, and the pre-production sample before bulk production begins. At Call The STYLE, the production timeline can be reviewed against these approval points before the order moves forward.
